TOUR ITINERARY
Day One - Drive to Monywa and visit
Phowin Hill A Monument in Phowin Hill (MONYWA)
 We'll
pick you up at your hotel and head off to
Monywa (140 km- 3 hours). Upon arrival in
Monywa, we'll cross the Chindwin River by
ferry boat and proceed by road to Phowin
Hill, a complex of cave Temples and shrine,
some dating back to 15th century and
containing about 450,000 Buddha Images and
some very fine mural paintings. Return to
Monywa and transfer to your hotel for
overnight. (Hotel)
Day Two - Return to Mandalay
After we enjoy a breakfast, we'll see some
famous sites of Monywa including Thanboddhay
Temple, built from the dream designs of a
noted monk (with over 500,000 of Buddha
Images); Boddhi Tahtaung (One thousand of Bo
Tree); Po Kaung Taung; Aung Sakkya Pagoda
and view of 300 ft long reclining Buddha.
Drive back to Mandalay and transfer to your

Day One - Hiking down to Anisakan
Falls
 We'll
pick you up at your hotel in Mandalay and
drive to Anisakan Falls (56 km-1 ½ hours).
This 1 hour steep descent through a river
gorge is only suitable for physically fit
travelers. Upon arrival the falls, enjoy a
picnic lunch and swim. Proceed to Pyin Oo
Lwin for sunset at the Botanical Garden and
transfer to your hotel. (Hotel)
Day Two - See colonel May town and
return to Mandalay
This morning we'll see colonial-era
buildings along the town's main streets and
visit local market, Pwe Kauk Falls, Peik
Chin Myaung Caves, a Buddhist shrine since
ancient times before we return by road to
Mandalay. Transfer to your hotel to complete

TOUR ITINERARY
Day One - Journey to northern Shan
State Gokehteik Viaduct (NORTHERN SHAN
STATE)
 We'll
pick you up at your hotel in Mandalay and
drive through scenic Shan mountains to
Kyaukme. Visit Kyaukme Jade market, and then
Bawgyo Pagoda, one of the oldest and largest
and the most revered one in the northern
Shan State. Afterward proceed to Lashio,
passing Thibaw (Hsipaw) a former residential
town of Shan Chieftain, known as Sawbwa.
Upon arrival in Lashio, transfer to your
hotel. (Hotel)
Day Two - See northern Shan State's
towns and end the day in Pyin Oo Lwin
Begin this morning with Lashio sightseeing,
including local market, Quan Yin San Chinese
temple, Pyilon Chantha (literally meaning
the prosperity for whole country) Pagoda,
Chinatown and the beginning of the Old Burma
Road. The trip then onwards to Thibaw (Hsipaw)
with a visit of Sawbwa Haw (Shan Palace). On
our return we visit Shan Paper making and
Shan's delicacy Noe-chauk
(dried-milk-strips) making cottages near
Kyaukme. Here you'll get the chance to view
the famous "Gokhteik Viaduct" in a distance
which was erected in 1901 by the American in
the British Raj and said to be the world's
second largest steel bridge. It is
considered to be the greatest railway
viaduct in the world at the time due to its
technical and transportation problems. Late
afternoon arrive in Pyin Oo Lwin and enjoy
the sunset at the Botanical Garden and
transfer to your hotel. (Hotel/Breakfast)

Paya (MINGUN)We'll pick you up at your hotel
and drive to jetty. Board a private boat and
sails along the Ayeyarwaddy River (11 km-1
hour) to visit Mingun, a peaceful village on
the west bank of river. Tour highlights
include huge but unfinished Pahtodawgyi
Pagoda; Mingun bell, probably the largest
uncracked ringing bell in the world weighing
90 tons and Myatheintan Pagoda with seven
concentric terraces at the base. Then
onwards by boat to the former Royal Capital
of Inwa (Ava). Visit by horse-drawn carriage
to Nanmyint Watch Tower, the remains of the
Palace building known as "leaning tower of
Ava", Maha Aungmye Bonsan Monastery, built
of brick and stucco; Bagayar Monastery,
famous for its impressive ornate
woodcarvings and teak posts. Return to
Mandalay by road and transfer to your hotel
to complete this memorable trip.
