ITINERARY |
Day One - Arrive
Yangon
Greetings day and welcome to Myanmar! Today you will arrive in
Yangon, the capital and the main gateway to Myanmar, and transfer to
your hotel for overnight. (Dinner/Hotel)
Day Two - Fly to
Kawthaung

This morning we depart for the airport and our flight to
Kawthaung. Kawthaung is the gateway of Myeik archipelago located at
the southern edge of Myanmar. The town was built by British and
named Victoria Point. There is a river name Perchan separate
Kawthaung and ranong of Thailand. Among the colorful people living
on that small town, Myanmar, Thai, Malay, Indian and Chinese are
prominent.
(Hotel/Breakfast)
Day Three - Live
aboard: 1 Dive at High Rock & 2 Dives at Steward Island
This morning after we enjoy a breakfast,
transfer and board a comfortable dive boat designed
to fit the needs of
a small group of divers. Today we'll have one dive at High Rock and
two dives around Steward Island.
High Rock is a small islet with a single tree.
The depth is only 18 - 25m with plenty of soft coral and cup coral especially in
the deeper parts. Seahorses are commonly found. The many cracks and crevices and
barrel sponges dominate the seabed with common lion fish and bearded scorpion
fish sheltering inside their rims from the currents.
(3
dives/All meals/Soft drinks)
Day Four - 3 Dives at
OK Rock
Today
we sail to another top Myeik Archipelago diving
site, Shark Cave or OK Rock which is known for its resident docile nurse sharks. The ragged cave
entrance is on the North West corner of the islet, and is 5-16 metres deep.
Often found guarding the entance are several grey reef sharks, long-fin trevally
and silver sweetlips. On the far side of the bowl a tunnel leads to the other
side of the island and a beautiful hard coral reef.
(3 dives/All
meals/Soft drinks)
Day
Five
-
4 Dives
at
South & North Twins
Island
Another
perfect place for diving - South and North Twins Island lay the 48
nautical miles far west of Shark Cave. The Twin Islands' waters are visited by
bull sharks, rainbow runners, and eagle rays. One kilometer to the North West of
North Twin laid a series of sloping rocky ridges. These ridges have sea fans,
and flower corals. Lobsters and Many rays can be seeing in there.
(4 dives/All
meals/Soft drinks)
Day Six - 3 Dives at Black Rock
Black Rock is one of most spectacular dive
sites in the Mergui archipelago with an excellent variety of reef life and
abundance of large pelagics including Silvertips, Gray reef sharks, Blacktips,
Bull sharks, Eagle and Manta rays. It stands in a northwest to southeast
position, with steep banks all around, and with a wall on its wes t and south
west sides. There are beautiful soft coral formations in the deeper areas. Black
Rock is a truly awesome Burma dive site. Not to be missed!
(3 dives/All
meals/Soft drinks)
Day Seven - 2 Dives each at Western Rocky and Mcload Island
Today
is our last day on our dive boat. Western Rocky is a small barren island, perhaps 60 m wide.
It
is home to hundreds of painted spiny lobsters and some playful nurse sharks.
Cuttlefishes and big reef squid are common, and giant fusiliers sweep over the
reef, made up of large flower corals and yellow feather stars. There is a tunnel
leads right through the island. Burma Banks are a group of
seamounts with surrounding waters exceeding a depth of 300 m, the
top of the banks rise to within 15-24 m of the surface. Silvertips
sharks are quite common here. Tawny nurse sharks are also easily
spotted, as they doze half-hidden under the overhangs created by the
table corals that dot the flat seascape here. This evening we
transfer to a hotel in Kawthaung.
(4 dives/All
meals/Soft drinks)
Day Eight -
Fly back to Yangon
This
morning we depart for the airport and our flight back to Yangon.
Upon arrival in this capital city, we transfer to our hotel for
a short rest. We're off for a day of great sightseeing in Yangon,
including the historic DOWNTOWN district and Yangon HARBOR.
We'll enjoy the activities of Yangon harbor and colorful
streetscapes and elegantly restored COLONIAL-STYLE buildings.
Extended visit to the gilded SULE Pagoda dating back over
2,000 years. We'll continue to KYAUKHTATGYI, a huge reclining
Buddha Image and also have the opportunity to experience a hand-made
glass demonstration at private owned NAGA GLASS FACTORY. This
evening we'll make a special visit to Great SHWEDAGON PAGODA,
one of the most spectacular religious on earth. Witness the Golden
Dome, covered with 60 tons of pure gold, glistening as the sun sets.
(Hotel/Breakfast)
Day Nine - Depart
Yangon
The morning is yours to relax or explore more of Yangon. Here you
have a chance to do some last minute shopping at more than
70-year-old BOGYOKE (Scott) market.
Later this evening,
you'll be transferred to Yangon international airport to connect
with your return flight home
and reminisce about the wonderful time you have had in the
‘Golden Land of Myanmar'.
