ITINERARY |
Day One - Arrive
Yangon
Greetings day and welcome to Myanmar! Today you will arrive in
Yangon, the capital and the main gateway to Myanmar, and transfer to
your hotel for the next two nights. (Hotel)
Day Two - Yangon
Touring
After breakfast, we're off for a day of great sightseeing in
Yangon,
including the historic DOWNTOWN district and Yangon HARBOR.
We'll enjoy the activities of Yangon harbor and walk through the
colorful streetscapes and elegantly restored COLONIAL-STYLE
buildings. Extended visit to the gilded SULE Pagoda dating
back over 2,000 years. We'll continue to KYAUKHTATGYI, a huge
reclining Buddha Image and also have the opportunity to experience a
hand-made glass demonstration at private owned NAGA GLASS FACTORY.
After relaxing at hotel, we'll start again for special visit to
Great SHWEDAGON PAGODA, one of the most spectacular religiou
monuments
on earth. Witness the Golden Dome, covered with 60 tons of pure
gold, glistening as the sun sets.
(Hotel/Breakfast)
Day Three - Journey
to Bago, an ancient city of Mon
We
depart for Bago this morning and we'll stop at a tree shrine
dedicated to a legendary "Nat" to witness some local peoples' belief
and visit at HTAUKKYANT Allied War Graves Cemetery, and
KYAIK PUN PAGODA, famous for its four huge Buddhas seated back
to back. We continue on to Bago where we'll get a chance to see
SHWEMADAW PAGODA, over 2,000 years old and its spire is even
taller than SHWEDAGON PAGODA, KANBAWZA THARDI PALACE of
mid-16th century warrior King BAYINT NAUNG, and the 55 meter
long reclining SHWE THALYAUNG Buddha Image. Our return to
Yangon will give us a look at the beautiful Myanmar countryside with
views of rice fields and small villages.
In the evening we’ll experience a Myanmar local feast as a farewell
eve dinner, followed by traditional music and dancing.
(Hotel/Breakfast/Dinner)
Day Four - Drive to
Thanlyin, an old Portuguese Settlement & Depart Yangon
This
morning after we enjoy a breakfast, we'll set out for a scenic journey to Thanlyin, once an old Portuguese settlement and a major
port, but now a sleepy village. We'll visit YELE PAYA, a
Pagoda set on a tiny island in the river, RIVERSIDE MARKET
and explore 17th century PORTUGUESE CHURCH in ruin. We'll
drive back to Yangon passing through more than one kilometer long
Thanlyin Bridge. Visit the over 70-year-old BOGYOKE (Scott)
market where you can do some last minute shopping to buy
local items and souvenirs to take back home. Later this evening,
you'll be transferred to Yangon international airport to connect
with your return flight home
and reminisce about the wonderful time you have had in the
'Golden Land of Myanmar'.
