Full Day Excursion to Twante

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Yangon and head off to Yangon Harbour. Board a public boat, crossing the Yangon River (15 minutes) and continue by road to twante, a small charming town that is famous for its pottery cottages where process of making pots have remained unchanged since generations. Continue to visit Shwesandaw Pagoda with its impressive 75 meters high Stupa. Return to Yangon through idyllic landscapes of rice paddies, rivers and villages. Upon arrival in Yangon, transfer direct to your hotel.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day One - Journey to Golden Rock

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Yangon and drive to Kyaikhtiyo, a small Pagoda insignificant in size but unique for its position. The rock is completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edged of the cliff. Upon arrival at base camp, proceed to the next camp called Yathetaung by open truck about an hour mountain drive. Take a light trek to the Golden Rock along the twisting footpath through a variety of roadside shops. Marvel the sunset on hilltop. (Hotel)

 

Day Two - Drive back to Yangon with en route visit of Bago

Take a half hour walk down to a small cave, which looks like the beak of a crow. Also stop at the roadside shops for rare products of jungle. Mid morning, drive down to the base camp and return to Yangon via Bago. Make a short visit of Bago town tour including local market; Shwetharlyaung, 55 meters long reclining Buddha Image and Shwemawdaw Pagoda, its spire is even taller than the great Shwedagon Pagoda. Return to Yangon through rural landscape of rice fields and small villages. Upon arrival in Yangon, transfer direct to your hotel to complete this wonderful trip.

Day One - Journey to Golden Rock with en route visit Bago

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Yangon and depart for Kyaikhtiyo. we'll stop at a tree shrine dedicated to a legendary "Nat" to witness some local peoples' belief and visit at HTAUKKYANT Allied War Graves Cemetery, and KYAIK PUN PAGODA, famous for its four huge Buddhas seated back to back. We continue on to Bago where we'll get a chance to see SHWEMADAW PAGODA, over 2,000 years old and its spire is even taller than SHWEDAGON PAGODA, KANBAWZA THARDI PALACE of mid-16th century warrior King BAYINT NAUNG, and the 55 meter long reclining SHWE THALYAUNG Buddha Image. After lunch in Bago, we continue our drive to Kyaikhtiyo, a small Pagoda insignificant in size but unique for its position. Day Three - See the Kipling's Poetic Town

After we enjoy a breakfast, we're off for a day of sightseeing in Mawlamyine, including Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the major temple sites in Myanmar; Kyaikthanlan Pagoda, probably here that Rudyard Kipling's poetic "Burma Girl" was born; Seindon Miphaya Kyaung, where our last King Mindon's queen sought refuge and the Zaygyi market. Enjoy the overview of the town as the sun sets with an evening sea breezes. (Hotel/Breakfast)

Day Four - Back to Yangon

Today after breakfast, we'll set out for return drive to Yangon (300 km-10 hours). Upon arrival in Yangon, transfer direct to your hotel to end this memorable trip. (Breakfast)

NOTE: The regions around Kyaikhtiyo and Mawlamyine are still undeveloped for most aspects of tourism. We'll pick you up at your hotel in Yangon and set out for a scenic journey to Mawlamyine. Upon arrival in Mawlamyine we'll transfer to your hotel for two nights. This evening, if time permits, we'll drive to a hilly north-south ridge in the town's east where you can enjoy the overview of the town and harbour. (Hotel)

Death RailwayDay Two - Excursion to Notorious Death Railway

Today after we enjoy a breakfast, we'll head off to Thanphyuzayat and visit its famous notorious Death Railway, WW II cemetery containing more than 3,500 graves of Allied Prisoners of War who toiled on the death Railway. Return to Mawlamyine passing the Para-rubber plantations. En route, drop in at Mudon village to visit traditional weaving industries. (Hotel/Breakfast)

Day Three - Back to Yangon

Day One: Yangon-Pyay (Prome)

Shwe Myet Hman BuddhaWe'll pick you up at your hotel in Yangon and depart for Pyay (285 km-5 hours). En route, visit the Shwemyetman Pagoda (Buddha Image with the golden spectacles). Take some time to visit the ancient (5th-8th century) sites of Sri Ksetra - Bebe, Bawbawgyi, Phayamar, Phayagyi Pagodas and Museum before transfer to your hotel. Evening visit to the Shwesandaw (literally meaning Golden Holy Hair Relic), which is the main point of interest and one of the most sacred Buddhist Pagodas in Myanmar. (Hotel)

Day Two: Akauk Taung-Yangon

This morning after breakfast, board a small private boat and sail along the Ayeyarwaddy river to Akauk Taung to view the unique Buddha Images carved on the stone cliffs along the river bank. Drive back to Yangon and transfer direct to your hotel and end this optional trip. (Breakfast)
